Operation Christmas Child

In 2012, Anastasia Baptist Church collected 1097 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. These boxes were delivered to Ukraine, Dominican Republic, and Madagascar.
In 2012, Samaritan’s Purse collected a record 9 million shoeboxes and reached the milestone of more than 100 million shoeboxes collected since 1993. These boxes have been delivered to more than 150 countries—including countries closed to the Gospel.
Each shoebox gift brings joy, hope, and smiles to a child whose life has been haunted by poverty, disaster, disease, or war. More than that, each box brings the true meaning of Christmas—God’s gift to mankind, the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ. Each child is offered a booklet “The Greatest Gift” in their native language which explains the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Anastasia Baptist collects shoeboxes in the atrium beginning the middle of October through the middle of November. Packing guides and labels are available during this time period at the Operation Christmas Child display table in the atrium.
Families, churches, organizations, businesses, clubs, teams, and individuals pack shoeboxes. If you would like to get a group involved, packets with everything you need to get started are available at the Operation Christmas Child display table beginning the middle of October.
If you would like to know where your shoebox is delivered, use the “Follow Your Box” donation link at www.samaritanspurse.org/occ. You will get a label to print with a barcode to put on your box. An email will be sent to you with the destination of your shoebox.
